Google Chrome
Google have launched a new web browser called Chrome. It's an early release and there is obviously a lot more work to do. but it looks clean and simple to use.
The key issue that google have tried to address is that in most browsers if a page you are viewing crashes, then you have to close the browser and reload. Here you can just close the problem tab and leave the others running fine.
So far I have spent a few hours using the browser and have edited web sites, logged into various password protected areas, gone to the bbc news site and watched a video cast from the news desk and it all works and works quickly.
The home page (I had to add the home page Icon myslef) is made up of the common sites you visit so they are ready for use, and rather than loading a search page just type your search term into the address bar and it will search for you.
But don't take our word for it, try Google Chrom eout for yourself at Google Chrome's website.
From my perspective, I like it. However, it doesn't have all the little addons that I am used to in Firefox, for example telephone numbers highlighted so I can click and dial through my skype account.
There is also no accessibility settings to be seen in this release. I suppose we should view it as part of the google family and so it will support all the common applications such as google maps, google docs, google spreadsheets etc.
